We are excited to share a special alumna testimonial from Trisha Goddard (Class of 1976), reflecting on her time at the school and the lasting impact it has had on her life and career. Trisha fondly recalls the school as “Willie Perks”, as it was affectionately known among students at the time - a memory many alumni will recognise and smile at, now proudly known as SWPS.
A pioneering British television presenter and journalist, Trisha is best known for The Trisha Goddard Show, which brought honest, empathetic conversations about real life issues into the mainstream. Over a trailblazing career in UK broadcasting, she has also become an award winning mental health advocate and author, widely respected for her compassion, courage, and commitment to open dialogue.
We are especially grateful to Trisha for generously giving up her time from her busy schedule in the USA, to support SWPS and for sharing her reflections so openly with our community. Her story is a wonderful celebration of the school’s enduring ethos of curiosity, generosity and ambition - values that helped shape her own journey and continue to shape our students long after they leave.
We will be sharing more alumni testimonials in the coming months, celebrating the diverse journeys of our former pupils. If you are an alumna and would like to share a testimonial, we would love to hear from you. Please do get in touch via email alumni@swps.org.uk we would be thrilled to share your testimonials with the SWPS community.
