From the Class of 1932 to the Class of 2012 – Perkonians of all ages returned to SWPS on Saturday to catch up on news, admire the new facilities, and fondly re-visit the old ones. The Class of 1967 was well represented in the afternoon, as a group of alumnae celebrated their 50th anniversary of leaving, as well as the Class of 1987 celebrating a mere 30 years since they left school! We were thrilled to have two visitors who left in 1932 and 1938 – arithmetic will tell you that anniversary! Hazel Green, over 100 years young, still enjoyed a few moments at the piano in the school hall and played beautifully.
The afternoon visitors enjoyed a delicious cream tea, and the evening guests a sumptuous candle-light dinner – a far cry from their old school dinners, apparently! If the decibels in the room were anything to go by, everyone had a wonderful time swapping stories of what they got up to at school – surprising news to some of the former staff who also attended!
